Welcome to my collection of free surf photographs from the Cayton Bay Surf School Summer Club.
These photographs were taken while my son attended the Summer Club at Cayton Bay. I took my camera along with me and, while watching him and the other surfers in the water, started photographing the sessions.
Rather than keeping the photographs to myself, I thought it would be great to make them available as free downloads for the people who took part.

Why I Took the Photos
My son was attending the Cayton Bay Surf School Summer Club, so I was already going to be there watching him.
As I had my camera with me, I started taking photographs of the sessions and the surfers in the water.
I’m a keen amateur surf photographer from Yorkshire, and photographing surfing has become a big part of my photography.
It was a great opportunity to combine the two — watching my son learn and enjoy surfing while practising my own surf photography.

Surfing at Cayton Bay
Cayton Bay is one of my favourite places to photograph surfing in Yorkshire.
The beach can produce some great waves and is a popular location for learning to surf. Watching the Summer Club sessions also gave me plenty of opportunities to photograph surfers at different stages of their surfing.
From beginners catching their first waves to more confident surfers getting to their feet and riding along the face, there was always something happening in the water.

About Me
I’m Howard, a Yorkshire-based amateur photographer with a particular interest in surf photography.
I originally started taking surf photographs of my mates , but photographing surfing has since become one of my favourite types of photography.
I spend my spare time photographing waves, surfers and the coastline around Yorkshire and the North East.
I’m probably still better at photographing surfing than actually doing it!
